Manchester United are reportedly set to launch a bid for Leicester City’s James Maddison in the January transfer window.
James Maddison who is valued at around 80 million pounds has had a brilliant start to the premier league campaign and is most likely to be included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the matches against Bulgaria and Kosovo.
Manchester United have already raided Leicester once this season when they signed Harry Maguire for 80 million pounds which is a world-record fee for a defender, Maddison who has an eye for a pass will bring creativity to Man United’s midfield which has largely depended on Paul Pogba for the final pass.
Pogba’s long term Man United has looked uncertain with Real Madrid reportedly set to launch a bid next season.
James Maddison at the age of 22 can be a permanent fixture in the United midfield for the next decade. United are trying to move away from buying big-name foreign players after signing expensive flops like Alexis Sanchez and Angel Di Maria recently.
Leicester City, on the other hand, will be reluctant to let Maddison who Branden Rodgers rates very highly leave and have already shown with Harry Maguire that they won’t accept an offer that does not meet the asking price.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season has tried to sign younger British talent and have added Daniel James and Harry Maguire and were also reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff but were put off by the asking price.
United have also placed their trust on another British talent Rashford to lead the line this season after they sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan in the transfer window.
