Manchester United have been desperately looking to sign a centre-back last summer, but failed to do so with the incompetence of the board. The Red Devils were linked to several defenders including the likes of Upamecano and Pau Torres but failed to sign anyone. It is now being reported by Manchester Evening News that Manchester United are likely to sign Raphael Varane in the summer of 2021.
The Red Devils have been poor defensively this season which has caused them to have such a low tally in the Premier League. None of Maguire, Lindelof or Bailly has been great so far and thus United have been linked with a few defenders in January as well. It is no doubt that the club needs a vocal leader at the back.
It has now been reported that Manchester United will try to sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid next summer. The French international has been earlier linked to United, but with a couple of years left in his contract signing him is achievable. Though he will be difficult to get, United should try hard to sign the World Cup winner.
Varane is one of the best defenders in the world and the United board should try hard to sign the centre-back.
