Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong may be the next superstar Manchester United is looking for.
Erik ten Hag is aiming to bolster the right-back position during the summer with few options in hand. Frimpong is one of the contenders for United, as per Fabrizio Romano.
Since moving from Celtic to Leverkusen in January 2021, the 21-year-old has been a key player in the German club. His current deal is valid through 2025, giving Bayer Leverkusen the upper hand in future negotiations.
United could need to fork over a big sum if Erik ten Hag wants to sign the young developing talent for his team. Right now, Diogo Dalot has been the no.1 choice for the gaffer at the right-back spot.
There are lot of clubs interested in Jeremie Frimpong. He has been pre-selected for Holland national team, and he scored again in the weekend 🔴👀 #transfers

The main cause of this is Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s lack of offensive abilities and hence, less competition for the Portuguese defender.
The Dutchman favours a full-back who is technically sound, adept at passing the ball, and willing to go into an attacking position to help his team. Young right-back Frimpong has the speed to move all day up and down the right flank.
He scored one goal and provided six assists in the previous campaign. The 21-year-old has four goals to his name in 10 Bundesliga appearances but has yet to get an assist this season. The defender is also included in the Netherlands’ provisional roster for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He was a member of the Manchester City academy, just like Jadon Sancho, however, he never played for the club’s senior team.
He joined Celtic in 2019 and was named the Scottish team’s Young Player of the Year. His two-year stint at Leverkusen has aided him in improving his game.
However, after signing Casemiro and Antony this summer, United significantly increased their transfer budget.
Due to the huge fee required in signing Frimpong, United might wish to postpone the deal until next summer rather than rushing in January.
