Manchester United join race for Guendouzi

Manchester FC have reportedly joined the race to get the services of Arsenal’s young French midfield star Matteo Guendouzi. Guendouzi has been one of the only bright stars in Arsenal’s dismal season. Real Madrid, PSG, Inter Milan, and Barcelona are also keen to secure the signature of the promising midfielder.

Guendouzi is a tireless runner in the centre of the park and can play anywhere in the midfield. The 21-year old midfielder can play a box-to-box role as well as sit in front of the defence and keep the game ticking. He is also one of the best ball carriers in the Arsenal squad.

Guendouzi has been one of the most reliable players in Arsenal and is often the first name in the team sheet. He has easily blended into the Arsenal side after his move from FC Lorient in 2018. Since then, Guendouzi has featured for Arsenal a mammoth 57 times in only two seasons.

He has been on the headlines for the wrong reasons though lately. The Frenchman was involved in a dirty on-pitch verbal battle with Brighton’s players, as Arsenal were defeated by Brighton. Guendouzi was sidelined by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta in the next match against Southampton and reportedly wants to leave.

Guendouzi thinks Arsenal are regressing and wants to move to a better club. He will be seeking a move to help his chances to make it to the French national side for the Euros. Barcelona or Real Madrid would be ideal suitors for the midfielder because Manchester United are abundantly filled in the midfield department.

Scott Mctominay and Fred have identical qualities of Guendouzi thus a transfer will not make sense for United. Guendouzi is a good player but United should look to bring in someone who can unlock defences. The Red Devils should rather look to bring in Jack Grealish, who has been heavily linked with the club.

Guendouzi should look to move to Barcelona or Real Madrid, as both the clubs have lack of quality midfielder. Barcelona would love to have a ball carrier in the midfield who can pass pretty well also. A move to Manchester United just wouldn’t make sense for Guendouzi, as there is a lot of competition for midfield spots.
