According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United is prepared to enter the race to sign Brighton & Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo.
Caicedo admitted in September that if the Red Devils had made a bid during the summer transfer window, he would have thought about moving to Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old was available for £4.5 million in January 2021, but the English giants turned down the chance to sign him from the Ecuadorian club Independiente del Valle.
Jude Bellingham and Frenkie de Jong are also present on Erik ten Hag’s midfield wish list, but it is highly unlikely that both players will move to Old Trafford next year.
News #Caicedo: #MUFC is planning to enter the race! Bosses highly interested. Also on the list of #LFC – next to Bellingham – & spotted by many other top clubs. Team mates say he is an „exceptional player & character“. Brighton hopes that he will stay beyond 2023. @SkySportDE 🇪🇨 pic.twitter.com/NGqLiWazVU

United signed two world-class midfielders Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, but Ten Hag might want to strengthen his midfield next summer. Ten Hag is eager to sell Fred even if the team has the option of extending his contract by an additional year.
Prior to the World Cup break, Donny van de Beek was handed a few opportunities by the manager, but the 25-year-old failed to make an impression in any of his appearances.
Caicedo has made a name for himself since becoming a crucial member of Brighton’s starting lineup. The Seagulls have recently made a good amount of money by selling some of their key players, and it appears like the Ecuadorian international will make a lucrative move next summer.
Caicedo has only made 25 appearances for Brighton, but he played a vital part in the Seagull’s victory against United earlier this season.
Given that he scored against Senegal in the World Cup, Caicedo’s value is likely to rise ahead of an exciting transfer window. However, his team was eliminated from the competition after losing to Ecuador by a 2-1 scoreline.
