According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is keeping an eye on Utrecht midfielder Taylor Booth in preparation for a potential summer transfer.
Under the Dutchman, the Red Devils have advanced remarkably this season, and they are currently on track to earn a spot in the Champions League for the following year.
Ten of Hag’s signings have thus far met expectations, and he is currently closely watching Booth, who signed for Utrecht from Bayern Munich for free last summer.
The 53-year-old has strong ties to Utrecht, where he has played and managed. Last month, United added Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern, strengthening their midfield unit. The Austrian is a fantastic box-to-box midfielder and will be looking to win over Ten Hag. He will be aiming to get a long-term contract at the conclusion of the season.
Even so, Ten Hag might be planning to bring Booth to Old Trafford. The young player is presently having a great season with Utrecht.
Booth has played in 14 Eredivisie games and has two goals and three assists. The 21-year-old is primarily a central midfielder but can play anywhere in attack behind the striker.
Along with his involvement in goals, he has drawn attention for his prowess in tackling and winning ground battles. In our opinion, Booth has the potential to develop into a vital player for United in the future.
This summer, United might lose several midfielders. Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain are now keeping an eye on Scott McTominay and Fred.
Concerns exist regarding Donny van de Beek’s future as well. Ten Hag must make a crucial choice now as the club will need a few new goalkeepers in the summer.
