Manchester United are keeping tabs on Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans whose expected move to Arsenal this summer has hit a major stumbling block.
The Belgium international maestro was a top name on the shopping list this transfer window for Mikel Arteta’s Gunners following the player’s representatives holding extensive negotiations with the North London side back in January.
Arsenal missing out on Champions League football for the upcoming season, however, is said to have resulted in a change of heart by the 25-year-old Tielemans who enters the final 12 months of his King Power Stadium contract when the 2022-23 campaign kicks off.
According to a report from talkSport, The Red Devils are hoping to make the most of Arsenal’s recent setback in their long-standing pursuit for the Leicester midfielder with United’s new boss Erik ten Hag mulling over making an offer for the player.
Erik ten Hag wants to spend big in the summer to try to overhaul his ranks at Old Trafford and bringing in a midfielder of Tielemans’ quality would certainly bolster the options in the centre of the park for the Dutch head coach.
