Manchester United launch the new away kit for the upcoming season

Manchester United and Adidas ignited the preseason tour by revealing the new white jersey as a huge surprise for the supporters.

The Federation Square in Melbourne served as the event’s venue as the club visited the city for the first time since 1999. In front of a crowded stadium, Andy Cole and Bryan Robson, two club veterans, hosted the occasion.

They had officially unveiled United’s new away jersey for the upcoming 2022/23 season in front of a packed stadium.

In an effort to create an updated style that pays homage to the club’s rich past, United’s new away kit blends the old with the new. Two-tone black and red are offered in a white pattern, the first time since the 2015/16 season. Across the shoulders are three-stripe accents.

A recently created helix pattern has been incorporated into the jersey fabric to provide the finer details. The three components of Manchester United’s DNA—youth, courage, and success—are represented by the helical design on the shirt’s fabric.

An engineered collar and sleeve cuffs have been added to complete the look, which is similar to United’s away jersey from 1998–1999.

Speaking to MUTV, Manchester United full-back, Luke Shaw introduced the jersey by saying:

“It is exciting to launch the new away kit in Australia, featuring a design which draws on the rich history of our club and jersey. The 22/23 away jersey captures the magic of Old Trafford in a new design, paying homage to some of the club’s most legendary kits and players.”

The jersey uses the newest temperature regulation technology from Adidas and is composed entirely of recyclable materials. Spectators will be able to see the players don the jersey on July 19th against Crystal Palace.

The supporters will hopefully witness the players perform admirably away from home in these new colors.
