Manchester United learn Porto keeper Diogo Costa’s asking price

According to the Manchester Evening News,, Manchester United would have to pay £70 million if they want to sign FC Porto keeper Diogo Costa this summer.

Following David de Gea’s error against West Ham, United’s goalkeeping strategies have once more come under scrutiny. The 32-year-old’s current contract will expire this summer and he could sign a new one.

Ten Hag is rumoured to be interested in signing another keeper this summer, whether De Gea stays at Old Trafford or not, with Dean Henderson expected to leave the club. Additionally, reports claim that interest in Costa has grown.

This season, Ten Hag’s staff has been keeping an eye on the 23-year-old, who has impressed them on numerous scouting missions.

They are considering moving this summer, although the article adds that any such transfer would require a huge £70 million price as the player’s contract with Porto has been extended until 2027.

Meanwhile, United target Rafael Leao has also signed a new five-year contract with Italian outfit AC Milan, putting an end to our interest in him.

Along with other teams in Europe, it is believed that United has long admired Leao, who is coming off a standout season with Milan.

Just like this, the Red Devils are missing their top targets and they need to take the first step in order to secure their remaining options in the market.

Costa will be a wise decision but it remains to be seen whether the club would be able to fork out such sum on a new goalkeeper this summer.
