Manchester United have had one of their worst summer transfer windows in the recent past and one of the busiest transfer deadline days. The Red Devils managed to sign only Donny Van de Beek before the transfer deadline day, in which United signed four players. It is now being reported that by ESPN that United made an enquiry on deadline day for Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schulz.
Manchester United tried the entire summer to sign Dortmund’s talisman Jadon Sancho, ultimately failing to sign him. It was believed that the Red Devils would finally place a bid for Sancho on the deadline day, sealing his transfer. But, nothing of that sort happened and what happened took everyone at Dortmund by surprise.
It has now been reported that Manchester United instead enquired for Nico Schulz on a season-long loan deal to Old Trafford. The Red Devils even offered to pay Dortmund about £1m for the left-back’s services along with the English club paying his full wages. This baffled Dortmund, who ultimately rejected the offer and questioned Manchester United’s planning going into the summer transfer window.
This year’s summer transfer window has shown the entire world Manchester United’s incompetency of doing transfers and the club will need a revamp to be successful on the pitch and off the pitch.
