Manchester United Legend Hopes Solskjaer Stays

According to former Dutch striker, Premier League giants Manchester United cannot keep on changing their manager’s and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should be given time to prove his worth with the club.

Ex-United striker Van Persie and club manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a public feud last month when the Dutchman urged the Norwegian boss to show a bit more anger after a defeat to North London side Arsenal.

In the aftermath of the event, the 46-year-old Solskjaer did not take kindly to the suggestion and responded by stating that while Van Persie took his famous number 20 shirt at Old Trafford, he had no right to criticize his managerial style insisting that he would not change his philosophy.

But despite the spat, the club is currently sitting seventh on the Premier League table and the ex-United striker feels that constant managerial changes are not beneficial for the club.

The 36-year-old stated that Solskjaer should remain as United boss because the fallen giants cannot keep on changing different managers.

Van Persie spoke to reporters and explained that the sacking of managers is not something of a trend United must follow, “Especially after Alex Ferguson left, everyone realized that it would be tough to stick to that level that Ferguson achieved for all of those years, I think everyone could see that. Now [David] Moyes has been there, [Louis] van Gaal, [Jose] Mourinho and Solskjaer. Ferguson took the time to adjust and get to a certain level. I don’t think that it’s ideal for the club to keep changing the manager every one or two years. If you go for Solskjaer, go for him and give him time that is what I think because the club needs to find some stability.”
