Manchester United linked with a move for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund

According to Calciomercato, Manchester United has joined Arsenal and Newcastle United in the race to sign Atalanta star attacker Rasmus Hojlund this summer.

The Danish international has been really performing well this year. At the club level, he has contributed to eight goals, and most recently, he scored five goals in two Euro 2024 qualifying games.

There is no need to be surprised that he is drawing attention from big names, and Calciomercato reports that United have started pursuing the 20-year-old. Although it is said that Atalanta are not interested in selling their finest asset, they would find it difficult to turn down a deal for roughly €50 million for his services.

Boca Junior’s Mateo Retegui has been named as a potential replacement by the Serie A team. Retegui just made his debut in Italy, and he has scored goals in both games.

Hojlund has only contributed 10 goals for Atalanta so far this season, but his efforts since the new year have been incredibly outstanding.

The Dane has attracted attention with his powerful build, excellent aerial presence, and dribbling abilities. With goals from the six-yard box, he has also demonstrated exceptional vision.

The young man unquestionably has the talent to develop into a top-tier striker in the future, so United must seize the chance to recruit him during the summer transfer window.

Newcastle and Arsenal are also interested in signing the player, although both of those teams already have star strikers in their lineups in Alexander Isak and Gabriel Jesus.

Anthony Martial’s injury issues have United pining for a top-tier striker to lead the line. Hojlund would be an excellent long-term investment. The young man has already admitted that he is a die-hard United supporter. This should increase the club’s chances of signing him in the event that Atalanta receives similar bids.
