Manchester United linked with a move for Derby County’s Malcolm Ebiowei

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are allegedly interested in signing Derby County’s Malcolm Ebiowei as part of Erik ten Hag’s plan to rebuild the squad.

It has been known that newly appointed Steve McClaren’s influence on the 18-year-old’s decision could be significant.

At Old Trafford, Ten Hag will have a huge rebuilding job on his hands this summer. A number of players have already left the club, and a few new signings will be required to improve on their disastrous sixth-place finish this season.

Ebiowei’s rise could be a surprise for many, but he has the potential to be a future star attacker. The winger has also played for Arsenal and Rangers and is very versatile with his attacking roles.

However, the move to Derby Country changed the 18-year-old’s career, as he appeared 16 times in the Championship last season under former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

With Ten Hag looking for players that ‘work hard and offer everything they’ve got,’ a transfer for Ebiowei doesn’t seem so surprising after all, with the youngster’s work rate impressing Rooney, who said his “attitude is amazing.”

Although there have been plenty of young gems who have secured a dream move to Old Trafford, United supporters will undoubtedly relish seeing the club associated with a youngster as gifted as the 18-year-old.

Hopefully, we can witness the winger performing at his best at Manchester United, if he secures a move.

Manchester United is ready to enter a new era with new players. Smart signings, such as the potential Ebiowei swoop, should help the club.
