Manchester United locked in talks to sign Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong

According to Journalist Marlon Irlbacher of Sky Germany, Manchester United are engaged in talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong this summer.

The Dutchman has been under the Red Devils’ radar all season, and Florian Plettenberg just stated that the club has begun talks with his agency.

Irlbacher has provided a new update, stating that United are a “really fascinating possibility” for the right-back, who might be lured away for about €40 million this summer. Leverkusen have already secured his prospective successor by signing Arthur. The 20-year-old recently had his physical test, and he will be joining in July.

This season, the 22-year-old has played for Leverkusen in both the right-back and right wing-back positions, and his performances have been incredibly outstanding.

In 36 games, the Dutch player has eight goals and nine assists. He has also made defensive contributions that have been hugely beneficial.

In the Bundesliga, the former Celtic player has astonishingly won 6.7 duels and 1.7 tackles per game. Meanwhile, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot, with one being more defensive and the other more offensive, provide the perfect balance for United.

We believe Frimpong may be the ideal right-back for the manager since he can contribute to goals while also offering defensive certainty.

Wan-Bissaka’s departure from the club this summer seems more possible now that Diogo Dalot is in advanced contract negotiations.
