Manchester United FC are in the lookout of a left-footed central defender to partner Harry Maguire at the heart of the defence next season. The Red Devils have looked at several options and were linked to Gabriel Magalhaes but had reportedly backed off a move. Last night, Di Marzio reported that United have rekindled their interest in Gabriel and have even made a substantial bid for him.

Gabriel Magalhaes was reportedly one of United’s priorities as a defensive partner to Harry Maguire. The Lille centre-back has also been linked to Arsenal and Napoli and was very close to joining Arsenal. But going with what reports suggest, Gabriel is now thinking of his options, after sighting a bid from Manchester United.
Lille president, Gerard Lopez, had earlier confirmed that Gabriel will surely be leaving this summer, but the destination depends on the player. According to Di Marzio, Gabriel Magalhaes is set to make his decision in the next 48 hours after asking for time to decide on his future. The player will surely add to the ranks at United, as the club is in dire need of a left-footed centre-back.
Some believe that United’s name is just being used to speed up the move for Gabriel elsewhere. But if true, the defender could fly to Old Trafford to finalize a move in just the next two days.
