Manchester United midfielder Fred has expressed his willingness to join Galatasaray. However, the Turkish club has not yet met the asking price set by United, as reported by Milliyet.
The Brazilian star has been a part of United’s squad for the last five seasons, making a total of 213 appearances in various competitions.
With only 11 months remaining on his contract, the club considers him surplus to requirements, and his departure from Old Trafford could be imminent in the upcoming weeks.
Fred has attracted interest from Galatasaray, and it is reported that the player has expressed a positive response to the idea of joining the Turkish club, as mentioned by Milliyet.
However, Galatasaray have not yet presented a satisfactory offer for the 30-year-old midfielder. The Red Devils have reduced Fred’s price tag from €20 million to €10 million recently.

Aside from Galatasaray, Fulham and an undisclosed Saudi Arabian club have also shown interest in the Brazilian midfielder.
Fred did not participate in United’s pre-season tour of the United States due to personal reasons, which has fueled speculation about his potential departure from the club.
With his contract set to expire in June 2024, the club has decided against renewing his deal, indicating that he is not part of the manager’s future plans.
Galatasaray appears to be Fred’s preferred destination, but the transfer hinges on whether the Turkish club can meet the required fee. Overall, it seems likely that the midfielder could leave United on a permanent basis in the near future.
Fred, who currently earns €140,000 per week, may need to consider alternative options if Galatasaray fails to meet the required fee.
Fulham could become more interested in signing him, especially after Joao Palhinha’s recent shoulder injury, which could necessitate the need for quality cover.

Despite manager Marco Silva being seen talking to Fred in the Old Trafford car park in May, the club has not yet made an official offer for the midfielder.
As of now, there are no recent updates on Fulham’s pursuit of Fred, but the situation could change depending on the extent of Palhinha’s injury.
