Manchester United monitoring Jamie Vardy’s situation at Leicester City

According to Manchester Evening News,  Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy is reportedly being watched by Manchester United and Chelsea this summer.

The 35-year-old forward, who only has one year left on his contract, may leave the King Power Stadium before the end of this summer’s transfer window. Fans of all the clubs concerned will be completely shocked by these most recent revelations.

In addition to becoming a Leicester City legend after helping the team win the Premier League in 2015–16, Vardy is also well into his 30s, making the possibility of him joining a top-six team appear exceedingly remote at this point.

Stranger things have, however, happened, and given the short duration of his present contract, the former England international may end up being an affordable back-up plan in an emergency situation. However, the 35-year-old would be a last-minute purchase, and United in particular would be powerless to dispute that.

Only time will tell how this bizarre drama ends, but given the uncertainty surrounding five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, manager Erik ten Hag is likely to enter the final weeks of the summer transfer season still debating whether or not to sign a new striker.

Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko is also linked with a move and it remains to be seen how this entire transfer unfolds.
