Manchester United are understood to be mulling over re-signing Dutchman Memphis Depay in a cut-price deal after his talks with Juventus hit a roadblock.
Depay had been in extensive talks with Serie A giants Juventus this month and appeared to be edging closer on a move to the Turin outfit before Juventus balked at the player’s wage demands.
According to a report from the Spanish news outlet Marca, it is claimed that with Depay ready to terminate his current terms with Barcelona, Manchester United could emerge as strong contenders to bring the Holland international back to Old Trafford this summer.
United have been keeping close tabs on the fast escalating situation and are now weighing up a €10 million bid for Depay with Eric ten Hag, the new United boss, keen to reinforce his forward lineup before September 1’s deadline day.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford has continued to attract speculation over the course of the summer with the Portuguese superstar demanding a move away with the hopes of turning out in the Champions League.
