Manchester United have had a summer to forget, as the club had a poor transfer window which saw none of Solskjaer’s priority signings coming to the club. Adding to that a string of below-par performances from the team has left the fanbase baffled. With the Champions League seeming looming later this month, United submitted their squad for the tournament as reported by Manchester United Official Website.
After qualifying for the Champions League last season, Solskjaer will look to make it big at the biggest stage of club football. Though the team have got to a bad start to the season, United are expected to be back. United’s squad for Champions League consists of all the new signings this transfer window, including the likes of Edinson Cavani, Facundo Pellistri, Donny Van de Beek and Alex Telles.
Axel Tuanzebe has also made it to the Red Devils’ squad as Solskjaer hopes the young defender will come in handy. Imminent misses from the squad for the Champions League include Sergio Romero, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo. All of the earlier-mentioned players are have been linked to moves to different clubs with United actively looking to sell them.
The likes of Mason Greenwood and Brandon Willians have been placed in the B-list though. Manchester United have been drawn in the ‘group of death’ and will need to be at their best to get out of the group stage of the Champions League.
