Manchester United officially reveal Van de Beek as a Red Devil

Manchester United’s pursuit for Donny Van de Beek has been very quick and effective, even though the club has been in talks with his agents. It was earlier reported that Van de Beek has had his medical done and all the paperwork was completed in the Netherlands. Finally, Manchester United have officially announced Donny Van de Beek as a Red Devil.

It was only Friday when noise from the Netherlands came that United are interested in signing the Dutch international. And by only Tuesday the Red Devils have completed all the formalities with Ajax for the signing of Van de Beek. The midfielder will wear No.34 for United, as a tribute to his good friend, Abdelhak Nouri, who suffered a cardiac arrest in 2017 and is still in critical condition.

The 23-year old has been signed for a reported fee of £35m and an additional £4m in add-ons. Talking to Manchester United’s Official Website he said “I would like to thank everyone at Ajax. I grew up there and I will always have a special bond with the club. I am now ready to take the next step in my career and perform at the highest level and there is no higher standard than Manchester United.”

The board members of United will now look elsewhere as they will try to sign some more players before the start of the Premier League.
