Manchester United have officially completed the signing of Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund and unveiled the 20-year-old ahead of the pre-season friendly against Lens.

Having scored 27 goals in 87 club appearances, including ten goals for Atalanta in the previous season, Hojlund expressed his excitement at joining United. He revealed that he is a lifelong fan of the club in an interview with the club’s official website.
He said:
“It is no secret that I have been a fan of this great club since I was a small boy, and I dreamed of walking out at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player.”
“I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to turn that dream into a reality, and I am determined to repay the faith that the club has shown in me. It is still early in my career, but I know that I am ready to make this step up and play with this group of world-class players.”
According to Samuel Luckhurst, Hojlund may be unavailable for the initial weeks of the season due to an injury he sustained during pre-season training with Atalanta. As a result, the new United signing is not yet ready to play.
The Red Devils have had a history of signing strikers who were nearing the end of their careers, including Wout Weghorst, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Odion Ighalo, and Radamel Falcao.
However, Hojlund’s arrival breaks that trend, as he is a young and promising addition to the squad.

United secured the signing of Hojlund for a hefty fee of €75 million, with an additional €10 million in performance-related add-ons.
Erik ten Hag had been eager to acquire a new number nine throughout the season, and finally, his wish was fulfilled with Hojlund’s arrival.
Initially, Harry Kane was the primary target for United, but they soon realized that Tottenham Hotspur would not sell their star player to a direct Premier League rival.
As a young talent, Hojlund may require some time to adjust to English top-flight football. Standing tall at 6’3, he possesses incredible speed and strength, allowing him to outmuscle defenders.
His potential is immense, and with the right development, he has the capability to become a future superstar.
