Reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano has stated that Manchester United are getting ready to make an initial offer for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.
The club has recently finalized the transfer paperwork for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, and he is anticipated to undergo his medical examination in the near future.
According to Romano, United’s next priority is to secure a new centre-forward. They are currently considering making an initial offer for the highly-regarded Hojlund.
The 20-year-old Danish striker has already agreed to personal terms with United and expressed his desire to join the club. Atalanta are seeking a transfer fee in the range of €65-70 million to consider selling Hojlund.
It is worth noting that Atalanta are not interested in a part-exchange deal involving the striker. United are close to finalizing the signing of Onana from Inter Milan for a fee of €50 million plus €5 million in potential add-ons.

Initially, Inter had demanded €60 million, but they eventually agreed to a lower fee.
United are expected to adopt a similar approach in their pursuit of Hojlund. Multiple bids may be submitted before the two clubs reach an agreement on the transfer fee.
It is estimated that United could secure his signature for approximately €60 million, including add-ons. The club should be able to afford the fee without having to sell any players, thanks to the increased budget provided by the Glazers.
While Hojlund only registered 10 goals and four assists for Atalanta last season, he possesses the potential to become a top-tier striker.
He is known for his strong aerial ability, physical presence, and pace on counter-attacks. The left-footed player has drawn comparisons to Erling Braut Haaland.

To unlock his full potential, it is crucial for Hojlund to join United during pre-season, as it would allow him to adapt to the demands of the Premier League more quickly.
If the transfer is delayed, he may require additional time to adjust, similar to his experience at Atalanta, where he joined from Sturm Graz towards the end of August last year.
