Manchester United’s pursuit of a top striker continues, and once again, the focus is on Ramus Hojlund. Previously, Atalanta rejected a €35 million offer from United, with the Italian club seeking around €60 million (£51.5 million) for the player.
However, according to Spanish source Fichajes, United are now prepared to meet the asking price and offer £51.5 million to secure the signing of Hojlund.
It is reported that Atalanta will accept the offer immediately, and the player will move to Old Trafford at the request of manager Erik ten Hag.
Hojlund made 20 appearances and scored 9 goals in the Serie A last season. He has also played four games for the senior Denmark national team, finding the net six times.
However, it is doubtful whether Hojlund is ready to immediately replace Cristiano Ronaldo at Man United.
While he has shown promise with some impressive performances, he is still a developing player and not the finished product. Realistically, United are in need of an established, high-quality striker to enhance their attacking options.

The lack of a prolific number nine has been a significant factor in the team’s inability to compete for the Premier League title.
Given this context, the question arises whether it would be wise for United to spend £51.5 million on signing Hojlund. We feel that it may not be the best decision.
While Hojlund has potential and has shown promise, the team needs an established and proven striker to address their goal-scoring issues and strengthen their chances of competing for the league title.
