As reported by The Sun, Manchester United is pursuing Swedish teenager Lucas Bergvall.
Bergvall, who is only 16 years old, is already a Nike-sponsored player. He now plays as a centre midfielder for the Swedish second-tier club Brommapojkarna.
The teenager recently led his nation at the U16 level and scored his first goal for the senior team on Tuesday night. Bergvall visited United’s Carrington training complex last year and was described as an outstanding talent by Brommapojkarna sporting director Peter Kisfaludy.
It appears that the Red Devils are still interested in signing the young midfielder. The 16-year-old is wanted by a number of teams, but only Feyenoord and Manchester United have shown concrete interest in the player.
Bergvall appears to have a bright future as a star, thus United officials could be wise to try to negotiate a transfer as soon as possible.
The Red Devils had previously missed out on promising players like Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland, both of whom went on to become future superstars.
Hence, the club would rather monitor the Swedish star’s progress before making a move in the summer. Bergvall could get a perfect environment under Erik ten Hag who is well-known for developing young stars into elite players.
