According to a renowned Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United is seeking to finalize the signing of Ajax manager Erik ten Hag as the club’s new manager.
The Red Devils had been looking for a new permanent manager to take over from Ralf Rangnick, who is expected to leave the club this summer to work as a consultant.
Following an interview with United’s board last month, Ten Hag emerged as the leading candidate for the job, with Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino also being considered.

The Dutch coach was said to have completed the interview very effectively, with United’s board of directors satisfied with his philosophy, vision, and aspirations for the club. The Red Devils are now attempting to sign the current Ajax manager, who is also being closely watched by Rangnick himself.
Manchester United is now reviewing the transfer budget, transfer targets, coaching staff, and rebuild plans with Ten Hag, according to Romano.

Pochettino’s career could be affected as a result of his poor season with Paris Saint-Germain, which included failures in the French Cup and Champions League. Furthermore, PSG must pay £15 million in compensation for the release of Pochettino, whereas Ten Hag is available for just £1.7 million.
The 52-year-old has had a huge impact at Ajax, winning two Eredivisie titles and playing an attractive style of game. After leading Ajax to the Champions League semifinals in 2018/19 and the round of 16 this season, he drew a lot of attention from the European elites.
There are high chances that the signing could be announced by the end of this month.
