Manchester United ready to chase Jude Bellingham next summer

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are ready to go all out for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham next summer. The English midfielder has been a star performer for the German outfit from the past two years.

The Red Devils were trying to plot a move when he was switching clubs in 2020. However Dortmund where able to sign the former Birmingham City midfielder for just £25 million

This summer Liverpool were the leading team in the race to sign the next-generation star. However Jurgen Klopp’s side preferred to sign Arthur in the last minute of the transfer window.

As things stand, the deal to sign the Juventus midfielder is a temporary one and they still have the chance to go after the teenage prodigy.

There are many potential suitors in the race and Manchester United could be one of the hottest destination. Erik ten hag has signed Casemiro and Christian Eriksen to rectify their midfield concerns.

However, both of these players are in their 30s and therefore a long-term replacement should be planned this summer. Currently, United were out of the race to sign Bellingham due to their failure to qualify for the Champions League

But they can have the chance to land the English star next summer if they are able to get a top four finish in the Premier League this season.

The 19-year-old has started all of the six league games for the German side and he recently scored a goal in their Champions league match against FC Copenhagen.

The midfielder’s contract runs until June 2025 and Borussia Dortmund are at a better stage to ask for a higher price. This could mean that any transfer would go beyond £100 million.

This would not be a major issue for Manchester United as they already spend more than £200 million this summer.

However, Ten hag would still prefer to sign Frenkie de Jong next summer but in case the Barcelona midfielder prefers to stay at the Spanish capital then the Red Devils may option to go after Bellingham for the same price.
