According to The Sun, Aaron Wan-Bissaka may be returning to Crystal Palace in January as Manchester United are eager to move on from the defender.
The 24-year-old will be allowed to depart Old Trafford during the upcoming transfer window after losing favour with Erik ten Hag. The Eagles would only consider a loan agreement, in contrast to United’s desire for a permanent transfer.
Thus, there are still some negotiations going on between the two clubs to reach an agreement for the right-back. Wan-Bissaka’s current contract with the Red Devils to set to end next summer. The defender left Palace in 2019 after playing admirably at Selhurst Park. Many clubs were drawn in by his defensive skills.
The 24-year-old hasn’t been able to maintain that form in Manchester, though. Additionally, several fans have been let down by the right-back’s poor performance in attacking play. Nevertheless, he was a constant player in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting eleven. The English U21 international was chosen by the Norwegian over Diogo Dalot. Additionally, Dalot struggled to find his feet under Solskjaer.
However, Wan-Bissaka’s status at Old Trafford changed completely after the Norweigan manager left. He could see himself slipping down the pecking order as Diogo Dalot has found his best form at the club.
Unfortunately, Ten Hag’s decision over Wan-Bissaka’s position has remained the same. This season, the defender has played in just four minutes, entering the game as a substitute against Liverpool. Hence, United would be willing to let the right-back leave and in turn, sign a new replacement.
