According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Manchester United are set to make their first offer for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund shortly.
This move comes after the Red Devils successfully acquired Inter Milan’s goalkeeper Andre Onana. The 27-year-old player is all set to join United and will be donning the number 24 jersey for the club.
United’s current priority is to secure the signature of a high-profile striker, and there are reports suggesting that they might offer €60 million, along with additional performance-based bonuses, to acquire the services of Hojlund.
Atalanta are not willing to accept any players as part of the deal; they have already identified El Bilal Traore from Almeria as a potential replacement.

It seems that Hojlund and United have already reached a complete agreement regarding personal terms. If the transfer goes through, the striker’s salary is expected to increase significantly, reportedly reaching seven to eight times his current earnings.
United manager Erik ten Hag sees Hojlund as the ideal player to lead the club’s attack. The Dutch tactician believes that the 20-year-old has the potential to become a prolific striker, scoring around 20 goals per season.
However, it remains to be seen if United can convince Atalanta to agree to the transfer.
The Red Devils are preparing an initial bid of €60 million with additional bonuses. On the other hand, Atalanta’s manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, is hopeful of receiving a higher fee, around €100 million.
While United may be hesitant to pay such a substantial sum for a young player, they might consider meeting in the middle by including performance-based add-ons in the deal.

The club has successfully negotiated lower transfer fees for players like Mason Mount and Andre Onana.
Ten Hag is keen on completing the signing promptly to have the striker available for the latter part of the pre-season campaign with the first team.
