Manchester United Ready To Part Ways With Raphael Varane

As per ESPN, Manchester United are ready to sell French defender Raphael Varane to fulfill the profit and sustainability regulations.

Raphael Varane

The 31-year-old has been inconsistent since moving to Old Trafford from Real Madrid. He was a top player with the Spanish giants but has failed to overcome his injury issues.

The centre-back has been irregular this season and this has forced Erik ten Hag to use Will Kambwala alongside Harry Maguire.

Hence, the club is ready to offload the defender to save £340,000 a week. This will help them offload a huge fee from their wage books.

The senior centre-back has attracted a lot of interest from Saudi Arabian clubs and there won’t be lack of options for him. We believe that he would be one of the players that will see the exit doors in the upcoming months.

The Red Devils need a new CB to partner Lisandro Martinez. Signing a new young defender will be a long-term investment for Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s team.

They have looked vulnerable in defense and they need to solve their squad issues this summer. Several of their senior players will leave the club in the next window.

Jonny Evans’ contract expires in the next few months, and Harry Maguire’s future at Old Trafford is also uncertain. Man Utd are set to miss out on Champions League qualification this term and they need a rejuvenated squad to improve from here.

It will be interesting to see how the club proceeds from here and whether they are brave enough to sell several of their non existent players. There are a number of high earning players who are linked with a move away from the Theatre of Dreams.

The club also needs to make a decision regarding the future of Jason Sancho and Donny van de Beek. It seems that both players are not preferred by Ten Hag and selling them will save huge space off the wage books.

We expect a lot of action within the squad during the summer transfer window.
