According to The Telegraph, Manchester United is seeking a fee of £20 million for Brazilian midfielder Fred, as Fulham has shown interest in acquiring him. With only one year remaining on his contract, United has decided against offering him a new deal.
The 30-year-old midfielder would consider a move to Fulham and work with manager Marco Silva. Speculation began when Fred was seen conversing with the Portuguese manager in the car park after the final Premier League match of the season.
The Brazilian joined Man United from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018 for a fee of £52 million, signing a five-year contract.
Although Fred has amassed over 200 appearances for the club, he is deemed surplus to requirements and has been made available for transfer. United activated a 12-month extension to protect his market value but is now prepared to offload him.

However, the club may need to reduce their asking price as Fulham is unwilling to pay £20 million for the player.
There have been no detailed discussions regarding the financial aspects of the deal. The Red Devils aim to undergo necessary squad restructuring during the summer transfer window.
As part of their plans, United is targeting Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount as a potential replacement and intends to sell more players to generate funds.
In addition to Fred, Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, Eric Bailly, Alex Telles, Anthony Martial, and Anthony Elanga are all available for transfer.
United manager Erik Ten Hag has ambitions of challenging Manchester City for the Premier League title and making an impression in the Champions League.
However, the current squad is deemed insufficient to achieve these goals, necessitating a significant squad overhaul during the summer transfer window.
