According to Sport, Manchester United have reignited their interest in Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who will be a free agent in the end of June.
The French star was close to joining the Red Devils in 2022. However, due to wage related issues, the player opted against signing for the club at the last moment.
The 28-year-old will be back in the market this summer and there are several clubs expressing interest in the defensive midfielder.
Barcelona are looking to offer a two year contract to Rabiot with an additional year included in the deal.
The player didn’t respond to any potential rumours but it is unlikely that he will extend his stay in Italy beyond the upcoming transfer window.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag is a fan of the experienced player as he was looking for a strong holding midfielder before signing Sofyan Amrabat on loan from Fiorentina last summer.
But it is still a mystery whether the former PSG star is willing to move to an English club and accept their wage demands. Obviously he won’t be receiving a hefty weekly wages at Barcelona as well.
The Blaugrana’s sporting director Deco will curate a reasonable deal for the player.
However, this was one of the reasons the player refused to move to Old Trafford and it could be repeated again with the Spanish giants.
Should Man United make an attempt to lure Rabiot to the Theatre of Dreams next season?
We believe that the club should move on from the player and look for other alternatives in the market.
Although the midfield general has been in fine form for the Italian giants, he doesn’t match United’s financial goals.
It would be better to target a player who is willing to join the club purely on footballing basis rather than creating an issue with the wage bill.

Rabiot left Paris Saint Germain in 2019 for similar reasons after a fallout with the management. The Red Devils will be careful not to target a player who will bring more drama to the field.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team are trying to bring more equality in the wage structure at the club. Accepting the Juventus midfielder’s demands will affect his plans.
