Manchester United renew their interest in Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Manchester United have reportedly renewed their interest in Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic with Eric ten Hag on the lookout for alternatives to Frenkie de Jong amid a setback in pursuit of the latter.

De Jong looks more than likely to snub a move to Old Trafford in this summer’s transfer window with the Barcelona midfielder appearing keen to sign for Chelsea should he head out the exit door at Camp Nou.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the United camp are mulling over revisiting their interest in Serie A’s highly rated playmaker Sergej Milinkovic-Savic with Ten Hag keen to reinforce his options in the heart of the midfield.

Rumours of United stepping up their approach for the 27-year-old Lazio maestro as an alternative to their top target for the summer window, De Jong, comes amid the club’s interest in signing the Juventus man Adrien Rabiot.

Like Rabiot, Milinkovic-Savic too is now inside the final 12 months of his contract with Lazio and a move away from the Estadio Olimpico could be enticing for the Serbian international with long-standing suitors Man United willing to bring him in.
