Manchester United scouts recently tracked Flamengo midfielder Lorran

Manchester United and Chelsea are closely monitoring the progress of Flamengo starlet Lorran, as reported by well-known journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 17-year-old earned his debut with the senior Flamengo team in January and has subsequently featured in three more matches.

Despite his relatively brief time on the field, he is widely recognized for his immense potential. In fact, he achieved the remarkable feat of becoming Flamengo’s youngest-ever goal scorer back in January.

Romano has reported that United and Chelsea have recently been keeping a close eye on the talented teenager, who has a release clause set at €50 million.

This young playmaker is under the representation of JayZ’s agency, which also manages players like Vinicius Junior, Gabriel Martinelli, and Endrick.

United’s scouting efforts in South America come as no surprise, given their previous interest in Moises Caicedo before he joined Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Red Devils had also been tracking River Plate’s Enzo Fernandez and Julian Alvarez, but both players made moves to Europe, with Benfica and Manchester City respectively.

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, previously of interest to Man United, are now part of Premier League rivals Chelsea, who secured their signings for substantial nine-figure sums.

In our opinion, the English giants should actively pursue their interest in Lorran if they intend to acquire him. Delaying their decision could result in missing out on yet another promising young talent.

Since their recent ownership change, the Blues have already made several signings of young South American players and possess the financial capability to outbid competitors.

Lorran, primarily an attacking midfielder, has scored one goal in four appearances for Flamengo.

United currently have a strong presence in the position thanks to their captain, Bruno Fernandes. However, the youngster might be considered a potential long-term successor to the Portuguese star.

Should United strike a deal with Flamengo for Lorran, it’s important to note that he won’t be eligible to join the club until he turns 18, which is on July 4th next summer.
