Manchester United set to bid for Inter Milan’s Andre Onana in the upcoming hours

According to reputable journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter Milan are awaiting an official bid from Manchester United for goalkeeper Andre Onana today. The bid is set to arrive in the upcoming hours.

After recently reaching an agreement with Chelsea for midfielder Mason Mount, the Red Devils could now intensify their pursuit of Onana, aiming to secure his signature from Inter Milan.

Personal terms have already been agreed upon between Onana and Man United. However, Inter Milan are now waiting for United to make an official offer for the 27-year-old goalkeeper.

Inter are reportedly seeking a transfer fee of at least €50 million, plus additional add-ons. This is considered a crucial day for Inter as they aim to balance their financial books for the year.

The Italian giants are reportedly aiming to generate profits before the end of the financial year, and they have already agreed to sell Marcelo Brozovic to Al-Nassr for €23 million.

As a result, they are now open to selling Onana for €50 million. It is believed that United needs to finalize a deal for Onana today to ensure that Inter does not change its stance on the player.

The African shot-stopper would be a significant upgrade for United in the goalkeeping position. The Cameroonian is highly skilled with the ball at his feet and adept at intercepting crosses into the box.

He has also demonstrated impressive mobility and can function as a sweeper-keeper when required, as seen in the Champions League final.

With Chelsea no longer pursuing Onana, United currently have a clear path to sign him. The Blues have shifted their focus to acquiring a backup goalkeeper this summer.

Onana’s previous experience working under manager Erik ten Hag for several seasons at Ajax suggests he would adapt seamlessly to the Premier League and be familiar with the team’s playing style.
