According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United is all set to sign Cardiff City’s ‘rising prospect’ Gabriele Biancheri.
The 16-year-old, who is highly regarded by academy scouts, scored 17 goals and recorded 10 assists in just 11 games for Cardiff’s Under-16s last season.
Despite having an Italian origin, Biancheri has played three youth matches for Wales, but he has also registered for Italy and England. He played against Croatia and Sweden in addition to France, who he lost to by a score of 2-0 in his debut.

He is capable of playing both as a number 10 and throughout the front line. He reportedly excels at using his speed to get past opposing defences. Chelsea was also interested in the young Welshman, but United moved faster.
He will sign professional terms in September after joining United on a scholar’s contract. It’s great to hear that the Red Devils are close to finalising a deal to get Biancheri, who may one day become a star.
Biancheri would almost certainly begin his career in the club’s academy teams before moving up the ranks at Carrington.
Alejandro Garnacho was the most recent player from United’s academy to shine in the first team. This shows that United isn’t afraid to use these players, so maybe Biancheri will follow in Garnacho’s footsteps and become a star in the future.
