As reported by The Mirror, Manchester United is set to loan out Brandon Williams.
It is believed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to send the young defender on load after already turning down proposals for a move in January.
Must Read- Premier League agent suggests Brandon Williams to go on loan to another club
After being called up for very few games, Williams played very rarely for the first-team this year and consistently dropped into the u23s to get enough game time. Therefore, Ole feels that Brandon Williams can get enough game time somewhere else in the Premier League so that he can grow.
Southampton was hugely interested in the young defender and they wanted him on loan back in January. Ralph Hassenhuttl will still be keen to get him if United prefers to loan him out.
Talking about Southampton’s transfer plans last month, the manager did mention that Williams is a rather interesting player and will be a good player for them.
After a good 19/20 season where the England u21 played well, he would be disappointed by the way he has been used this season. After the appearance of Alex Telles, the left-back position became clogged moving Williams over to the right side where the always fit Aaron Wan-Bissaka left little necessity for a backup.
While being right-footed, the young right-back’s experience at that spot is restricted. Having played solely from the left since he was 16. With the club showing their interest in Kieran Trippier, the flexible full-back may see himself slipping much further down the hierarchy.
A loan move will see the chance for Williams to develop and gain crucial experience to play at the top. A red hot character, who plays with the energy, Williams will certainly attract few clubs alongside Southampton this summer.
