According to TuttoSport, Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic appears to be out of reach for Manchester United.
The English giants have been linked with a move for the Serbian star for a number of years, but no deal has ever materialised. The persistent rumours about him and United are primarily thought to be agent-driven.
Nevertheless, the club admires Milinkovic Savic and they had monitored him in the past few years. But according to Tuttosport, a recent update might put an end to United’s pursuit of the midfielder.
The 27-year-old might be travelling to Turin in preparation for a potential transfer to Juventus. However, both teams have yet to agree on any potential fee and the club’s president has recently confirmed that the midfielder will cost any team in excess of £100 million, a fee United are unlikely to pay. Since his arrival in 2015, Milinkovic-Savic has solidified his position as one of Lazio’s most crucial players. His future will probably become clearer after the World Cup, where he is now playing trade for the national side.
The Serb, one of the top Serie A midfielders, has spent the past seven seasons as the Italian team’s prime midfielder. And during the past few years, he has reached the pinnacle of his abilities.
The 27-year-old is having a strong 2022–2023 season so far, with five goals and seven assists in 20 games. However, Milinkovic-Savic will probably leave Lazio in the 2023 summer transfer window because he will only have one year left on his current contract.
