Former England defender believes that Manchester United should forget about signing Harry Kane and said there’s no way the striker will move to Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s have scored just ten goals in nine Premier League matches this season having left themselves short of options up front.
United legend Keane suggested after the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford that if they want to solve the problem and return to the top table – they need to break the bank to sign Kane from Tottenham.
But Pearce believes a move to United will be highly unlikely for the England skipper.
Speaking on Monday’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, Pearce said: “When you look at United in years gone by, that’s what Sir Alex used to do.
“Van Nistelrooy, Cole, Sheringham, Berbatov – he used to go out and buy the best center-forward who was available at the time.
“Also there are question marks over the character of the dressing room at United, and when you sign Harry Kane you get a top character a well, a top professional.
“But Harry Kane is one of the few players who you feel has an affection, a real connection with the club he plays for, and that’s going to be a problem.
“There’s no Champions League football at Old Trafford at the moment, so that’s a problem as well. That’s what players want, that’s the clamor.”
And Sports Breakfast host Alan Brazil agrees, adding: “I think Harry is a Tottenham man.
“I think he’ll only go abroad, I really honestly believe that. I don’t think he’ll go to Manchester United.
Marcus Rashford is United’s leading scorer in the league this season with four goals, one more than Daniel James.
