Manchester United Show Interest In Atalanta Striker Rasmus Hojlund

As reported by The Times, Manchester United is interested in signing Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund alongside their top target Harry Kane this summer.

United manager Erik ten Hag has expressed the club’s intention to bring in a new striker, and Hojlund has caught their attention as an upcoming star.

Hojlund is on United’s shortlist and could be available for a fee of around £40 million. The 20-year-old Danish player joined Atalanta last August from Strum Graz for €17 million (£15 million) and has impressed in his debut season in Italy, scoring eight goals.

He has also made an impact at the international level, netting five goals in four appearances for Denmark.

Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini recently admitted that it might be challenging for the club to retain Hojlund for another season, which increases United’s chances of securing the promising striker’s signature.

Ten Hag needs more options in attack, mainly at the centre-forward position. Marcus Rashford has been handling the burden of scoring goals this season.

Anthony Martial’s injury hasn’t helped and Wout Weghorst has not matched United’s standards.

Considering these factors, it seems obvious that the gaffer would be hunting for a new striker and there are many players in the market who can actively fit his style of play.
