Manchester United start talks to sign Lyon star Houssem Aouar

According to the Spanish publication El Chiringuito, Manchester United has started talks to sign Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar on a free transfer.

The Red Devils are also rumoured to be interested in signing Jude Bellingham and Alexis MacAllister. Aouar, who has begun the final three months of his contract with Lyon, is reportedly in talks with them as of late.

The 24-year-old has also been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt and Real Betis, although he is expected to put off making a choice until the summer. Aouar wants to compete in the Champions League the following year.

Christian Eriksen left Brentford last summer on a free transfer, and United subsequently signed him. Although there were some initial doubts about the choice, the Danish player has already contributed two goals and nine assists.

Sadly, the midfielder suffered a catastrophic ankle injury in late January, preventing him from contributing to many more goals.

Eriksen is scheduled to return this month, and he might play a significant part in the team’s push for the Champions League.

But still, United should try to sign Aouar. The 24-year-old would be a fantastic free agent. Despite his struggles with injuries this season, the Frenchman has an amazing overall record.

He has contributed to 12 or more goals on average over the last five seasons. He might perform even better around elite players.
