According to Fichajes, Manchester United has re-added Ajax striker Brian Brobbey to their transfer wish list for the summer as Erik ten Hag is still looking to bolster his attacking options.
In addition to wanting to add a top-tier centre-forward, the Red Devils also want to increase their depth. With the addition of two players on loan, United wrapped up the January transfer window quietly by their standards.
In order to address immediate issues in the attack and midfield, respectively, Ten Hag brought in Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer on temporary contracts.
According to numerous rumours, the Red Devils appear to have a big plan for the summer. To start the next stage of their squad-building process, Ten Hag will probably urge the club to break the transfer record. One of the most important is the requirement to sign a star centre-forward.
United are also targeting Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer. However, the club will face a similar issue with its price tag.
Wehgorst is unlikely to stay past the summer, and given his deplorable injury history, Anthony Martial might be in a similar situation. Ten Hag will therefore consider other players like Goncalo Ramos, Mohammed Kudus, and Brian Brobbey.
Given that the others might prefer roles other than supporting ones, the latter could turn into a realistic target for United. Ten Hag is aware of what Brobbey is all about.
The 21-year-old Dutch striker is still very high on the manager’s list because he was essential to winning the Eredivisie title the previous season.
Since a transfer tangle involving the Dutch team and RB Leipzig, Brobbey has appeared in 57 games for Ajax. Ten Hag brought him back and re-signed him permanently after he left the Eredivisie side on a free transfer. The 21-year-old Dutch striker played in 19 games this season and scored 10 goals in the Eredivisie. Ten Hag is unlikely to make him his first-choice striker, but he might one day make a run at it.
In the summer, Ajax would demand a high price for the 21-year-old striker.
