As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are interested in signing AC Milan winger Rafael Leao.
This season, Leao has once again dazzled in Italy. Several of the major clubs in European football have shown admiration for the 23-year-old left winger as a result of his nine goals and 10 assists for Milan.
Erik ten Hag’s Reds, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and PSG are all rumoured to be considering a bid for the Portuguese forward this summer. Leao’s contract at the San Siro is rumoured to be up for renewal, although Milan reportedly has reservations about the salary demands.
According to reports, Milan would need to spend almost €40 million on salaries. The Serie A powerhouses would also need to act fast because Leao’s contract is slated to expire in 2024.
Meanwhile, United are also considering a deal for Joao Palhinha. He has had a standout Premier League season with newly promoted Fulham.
With 28 games this season, the defensive midfielder has established himself as a reliable member of their team. United will apparently have to fork up almost £40 million to acquire the Portuguese star.
Fulham seems to be in a strong negotiating position given that Palhinha recently joined in the summer and have a contract that expires in 2027.
