Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo charged by FA

As reported by the club’s official website, Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been charged by FA following his phone crashing incident against Everton in April.

The Portuguese star was guilty of smashing a fan’s phone to the ground after his team failed to win the match. The Everton fan and his mother were deeply shocked by the incident and talked about the matter.

Until then, no investigation was launched, but the FA has charged Ronaldo with improper conduct following his activities after the final whistle against Everton.

Earlier, the police had cautioned the 37-year-old regarding the incident and now an official message has been received by the player and the club by the Football Association.

The statement read:

“Cristiano Ronaldo has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 for an incident that took place after Manchester United FC’s Premier League match against Everton FC on Saturday 9 April 2022. It is alleged that the forward’s conduct after the final whistle was improper and/or violent.”

Ronaldo’s anger towards the fan was not a justified action and hence the forward apologized for the incident in April. He had even asked the fan to watch Manchester United’s next match at Old Trafford, an invitation that was rejected by the boy’s mother.

The veteran forward is currently busy in preparation for Portugal’s next match against the Czech Republic and then Spain on Tuesday.
