Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani is in line to link up with Boca Juniors next summer after staying put at Old Trafford for the 2021-22 campaign.
The arrival of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo had led to speculation that the 36-year-old Cavani could be lured into making a move elsewhere with his first-team role coming under great threat following Ronaldo’s return to the Premier League with United.
Cavani, however, asserted his desire to play out the ongoing campaign with Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s side despite Everton being credited with a strong interest in landing his signature during the final days of the transfer window.
Reports from Todo Fichajes have now suggested that the former PSG man is set to sign for Argentine outfit Boca Juniors in next year’s summer transfer window with an agreement already in place between the club and the player.
Cavani’s desire to join Boca Juniors is understood to be because of the player wanting to be closer to his family as well as the assurance of regular first-team action coming his way.
