Juventus has issued a clear warning to potential suitors of striker Dusan Vlahovic, stating that he will not be sold during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Serbian forward has attracted interest from top European clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea despite a challenging season at the Allianz Stadium, where he scored only 14 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions.
The Serie A giants are determined to retain their star player having signed Vlahovic from Fiorentina in January 2022 for approximately £80 million.
Francesco Calvo, the club’s chief football officer, emphasized that they have no intention of letting the 23-year-old leave, although he did express a desire for improved performances from the high-priced signing.
As stated by the Daily Mail, the Juventus chief said:
“Rumours are not something we can control, but the transfer market hasn’t even opened yet. Dusan is not for sale. We are satisfied with the effort he puts in, although everyone in life can do better.”
However, Vlahovic himself is reportedly open to a move away from Turin. While Arsenal and Chelsea are known to be interested in acquiring Vlahovic, Manchester United has also entered the picture, as they are in need of a new striker.
The future of Anthony Martial at United is uncertain, and it has been confirmed that Wout Weghorst’s loan move from Burnley will not be made permanent.
The Red Devils would need to sign quality players this summer in order to challenge for the league title next season. The striker position seems to be the most important one, with Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen being the desired target.
