This year, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag invaded Ajax for signing top-quality players like Lisandro Martinez and Antony.
Given that Ajax is a talented Dutch team with whom Ten Hag is familiar, it would be a mistake to assume that United’s relationship with them is finished.
Recent reports have suggested that teenage sensation Kenneth Taylor who made his debut under Ten Hag, is rumoured to be on United’s radar for a summer transfer.
Prior to Ryan Gravenberch, Louis van Gaal has just selected the central midfielder for the first time into the Netherlands international team.
Aad de Mos, a former Ajax manager, has been impressed with Taylor’s play for Ajax this season, where he has three goals and two assists in seven Eredivisie games.
According to De Mos, the 20 years old, can be one of the stars at the World Cup, who recently secured a huge career-moulding transfer to the Dutch side. Speaking with Voetbal News, he said:
“He will be the revelation of the Oranje at the World Cup. He is already one of the best players on the field at Ajax. He will stay for another year after this, then it will be Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United.”
The Ajax academy graduate has only made 32 first-team appearances until now. Because of his low level of experience, a move to another big club like Manchester United at this moment would be premature for him, but it wouldn’t be unexpected if clubs expressed interest as early as next summer.
Whether United will be one of those is now pure speculation, but considering the Erik ten Hag connection, it wouldn’t come as a surprise.
He recently renewed his contract with Ajax, which will run until 2027, thus it’s unlikely that he would be available for a low price.
