As reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are set to miss set-piece coach Eric Ramsay as Minnesota United have approached him for the role of the head coach.
Ramsay initially joined the club as a player development and set-piece coach during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure and has held on to his position over the past few years.
Manager Erik ten Hag was impressed by the work of the 32-year-old and his role in the player’s recent improvement in taking set-pieces. However, Ramsay is now gearing up for a new adventure as he is close to taking the role of head coach with US based club Minnesota.
Ramsay has been on the top of the list for the Major League Soccer side. He has earlier rejected offers from Blackpool and Swansea City in the past.

Ramsay will break a new record as soon as he joins Minnesota
This move is set to break an instant record for the league. The coach will be the youngest manager in the division by a big margin, with the second youngest being Nick Cushing of New York City football club (39 years old).
Minnesota United’s campaign kicks off on February 25, and their new head coach would be joining them after their second game. Sadly, the Manchester derby on March 3 will mark his final day with the Red Devils.
Ramsay has left a huge impact behind the scenes at Old Trafford over the past few years and has won a lot of hearts in the dressing room.

The fans would wish that Ramsay will find similar success in MLS. Unlike Kieran McKenna (current Ipswitch Town coach), he has opted for a different destination by rejecting opportunities to coach an English club.
It remains to be seen who Man United target to be their next set-piece coach after losing Ramsay. Any eligible candidate has a big shoe to fill at the Theatre of Dreams next season.
