Manchester United FC have confirmed that the club will release nine players from the academy at the end of the season. The club will let go of these players out as their contracts run out on June 30. Largie Ramazani, who is one of the great academy prospects, is one of the nine players.

The club will allow the players to Carrington to maintain their fitness in pre-season though. All the players will be given support packages, and the club will help them find new destinations. The players who have been released are all above the age of 19 years.

Manchester United FC haven’t released any player under the age of 19 years as the academy are reluctant to. The academy doesn’t want to decide in such a pandemic situation, meaning the club has retained 202 players. Every player under the age of 19 years will be at the club till the end of next season, at least.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson featured for United when Van Gaal was at the helm. The pacy left-back was also crowned as the under-21 player of the year in 2016. But, he was loaned out the next season and has been out since then at Wolverhampton, Leeds, Scunthorpe, Tranmere, and Oldham respectively.

Largie Ramazani could potentially be the biggest miss, as the winger has been in great form lately in the Premier League 2. The Belgian has scored 9 and assisted 2 in just 13 games for Manchester United u-23 side. He also featured in the Europa League game against Astana for the senior side.

Along with Ramazani and Borthwick-Jackson, Demetri Mitchell, Kieran O’Hara, and Ethan Hamilton have also had first-team experiences, but on the bench. The reason to let Ramazani go was because of his very high wage expectations. According to reports, his expectations were even more than some first-team players, and he will move to the Spanish second-division.

The only first-team player who is out of contract at the end of this season is Angel Gomes. The talented English midfielder is holding out of a contract extension wanting guaranteed playing time. But, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer stated that discussions between the club and the player are on an advanced stage.
