Manchester United unlikely to sign more players this summer

As reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are unlikely to make new signings this summer. As the deadline day looms close, there is a higher chance that we will not get to see any more incomings.

After the arrival of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, United was looking to add a defensive midfielder to their ranks. This summer has been a successful one for Manchester United but it could be the best one if they are able to sign a CDM in the coming days.

Raphael Varane’s signing took extra time to conclude. It was projected that the French center-back will sign for Manchester United in the first week of August. But due to his visa issues, it took a week extra to complete the deal.

United is currently focusing on outgoings and has already started sending their players on loan to other clubs. Facundo Pellistri has also joined Alaves for a one-year loan deal. Axel Tuanzebe was also signed by Aston Villa for a one-year loan deal.

Andreas Pereira has also signed for Flamengo for a one-year loan spell. Tahith Chong has been sent to Birmingham for a loan deal till 2022.

But all the deals till now have been loan deals and there have been no permanent transfers. United still needs to collect some significant funds by selling one of their players for a higher price.

The chances of signing a new player look quite slim right now. Just 10 days and the transfer window shut close. It could still be a miraculous deadline day like last year when we signed Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles, and Pellistri.
