Manchester United vs Brentford Match Preview | EPL 21-22

Manchester United will play their final home game against Brentford on Monday night. Old Trafford will witness the final home game for United this season.

The Red Devils are now in sixth place in the league table, five points behind Arsenal in fourth place, who have two games in hand. Brentford is in 12th place after a fantastic season in the Premier League.

On Thursday night, Manchester United came from behind to tie 1-1 with Chelsea at Old Trafford. In the 60th minute, Marcos Alonso put the Blues ahead, but Cristiano Ronaldo equalized two minutes later.

Some people continue to criticize Ronaldo, but the Red Devils would be lost without him this season. In all competitions, the 37-year-old has 23 goals, including 17 in the Premier League.

Manchester United’s prospects of finishing in the English Premier League’s top four are dwindling. They’ve lost three of their last five games in the Premier League, and they’ve only won one of their last six.

They are now in sixth place, five points behind Arsenal in fourth place, who have two games in hand. They are three points clear of seventh-placed West Ham United, who have a game in hand, while eighth-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers are only six points behind them and they may also miss out on Europe.

In their final two games of the season, Manchester United will face Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace.

They’ll only be able to finish with 64 points, which is already their lowest-ever Premier League total. For all the wrong reasons, this season could be a club record-breaker.

Brentford, on the other hand, has had a fantastic debut season in the Premier League. The club is on course to compete at this level for another season.

Thomas Frank’s club is in excellent form, having won their last three Premier League games against Chelsea, West Ham, and Watford. In their most recent match, on April 23, they held Tottenham Hotspur to a goalless draw.

Manchester United vs Brentford: Team News

Edinson Cavani and Luke Shaw will not play for Manchester United against Brentford on Monday. Also ruled out are Paul Pogba, Harry Maguire, Mason Greenwood, and Harry Maguire.

If Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Fred, and Jesse Lingard all return, the team may be complete. However, Jadon Sancho is suffering from tonsillitis and may not be able to return until the end of the season.

Alejandro Garnacho made his Red Devils debut against Chelsea and will be hoping to play again. It would not be surprising to see the same starting XI as against the Blues.

Fred, who has been sidelined with a hip issue, might make a comeback off the bench, while Juan Mata could pose a threat to Marcus Rashford.

Christian Norgaard and Kristoffer Ajer should be eligible for selection at Old Trafford, according to Frank during his pre-match press conference.

However, Ethan Pinnock, Sergi Canos, Frank Onyeka, and Saman Ghoddos are all out, and Mathias Jorgensen will miss the rest of the season due to a groin injury.

Christian Eriksen, who has been in superb form for Brentford in the second half of the season, will start in central midfield once more, while Ivan Toney, who has 12 league goals this season, will be joined in attack by Bryan Mbeumo.

Our Prediction For The Match:

Brentford’s recent record makes this a difficult match to predict, but Man United showed character in the second half against Chelsea and will be craving for a positive result in their final home game of the season.

The form book predicts Brentford to win or a draw, but we have a gut feeling Manchester United will win this crucial tie.

Our Final Score: Manchester United 2-1 Brentford
